DESCRIPTION:A Grand Night for Singing – Auditions\nStep into the spotlight — it’s your turn to shine! \nWaco Civic Theatre is thrilled to launch Broadway for Seniors\, a joyful new program celebrating the talent\, energy\, and stories of our senior community. \nWe’re looking for passionate performers (ages 55+) who want to sing\, act\, and share the stage. No experience? No problem! These productions are designed just for you — with shorter rehearsals\, flexible casting\, lighter technical demands\, and even the option to use scripts or music books onstage. All you need is enthusiasm and a love for the magic of theatre. \nA Grand Night for Singing is a musical revue that celebrates the songs of the legendary Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II. The show features a compilation of hit songs from their most famous musicals like Oklahoma!\, The Sound of Music\, and The King and I\, presented with innovative arrangements! \nPlease come prepared with 16 – 24 bars of an up-tempo song and a ballad from a Rodgers and Hammerstein production or something similar to the style of the show.
