We at the Waco Actors’ Guild are proud to have supported the cast and production team of Silent House Theatre Company’s Much Ado About Nothing. I had the chance to see the performance last night, and it was an absolute delight! Everyone involved should be proud of the vibrant, engaging work they brought to the stage.
How We Helped
As part of our commitment to supporting Waco’s community of actors, we expanded our range of support for this production and laid the groundwork to offer even more in the future. Much Ado became the largest production to date to utilize Cast Chat, our communication tool designed to streamline collaboration between cast and crew. We learned a lot from this implementation and were thrilled to hear such positive feedback and growing interest in its continued use. For those unfamiliar, Cast Chat is a Slack-based program developed by WAG to keep production teams connected throughout a show’s lifecycle. If your organization is interested in using Cast Chat, reach out to us at business@wacoactorsguild.org.
In addition to our usual promotional support on social media, we tried something new: participating in a media day rehearsal to capture raw, in-the-moment acting and give audiences a glimpse of what local talent brings to the table.
The next day, we sat down with Jamie Coblentz (Beatrice) and Bobby McCarthy (Benedick) to talk about their experience in the show, the rehearsal process, and what acting means to them as artists.
WAG is always growing, adapting, and looking for new ways to serve our local theatre community. We can’t wait to support Waco’s actors in their next production and we’re always open to ideas. If you have thoughts on how WAG can better support performers, let us know! Memberships are in the works, so stay tuned for more on that soon.
